Civil Engineering and Architecture

CEA Course Description

  • Concentrator (Year 2) Course

  • Open to students who have taken IAE.

  • NOTE: 9th graders may start with this course if they took advanced STEAM in 8th grade, or are in Algebra 2 as a freshman.

  • UC A-G approved for the ‘g’ requirement

  • Articulation with MSJC College pending

Civil Engineering and Architecture is a year long specialization course.  Students will develop skills in creative design, 3D printing, engineering calculations, technical representation, coding, and the use of current 3D architectural software to represent and communicate solutions.  In this project based course, students will analyze, design and build electronic and physical models of residential and commercial facilities.  Attention to green architecture and renewable energy is interwoven throughout. Students do not need to be in advanced math or science to excel in this course.
