President's Corner
Join PTSA today!
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. As a parent or teacher, you may be involved with your student’s academic, athletic or extra-curricular organizations. The PTSA, on the other hand, serves as an advocate for ALL students. PTSA provides support for teachers and organizations across campus. The PTSA sponsors programs such as Career Day and Reflections. It provides volunteers and financial support for a variety of activities such as school dances, STAR testing, Red Ribbon Week and the Multicultural Fair and it awards scholarships and special community service awards to students. The PTSA touches every student on campus in some positive way. Joining PTSA does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer. Joining PTSA is a way for you to ensure that you are represented. Important legislative issues are being decided in Sacramento and the PTSA is the best voice for parents, students and teachers. Let your voice be heard; Join PTSA today!

GOHS PTSA Association Meeting
Thursday, March 15, 2012 @ 12:00pm
In Attendance: a quorum was established with the following people: Gayle Fogler, Whitney Fogler, Alyssa Garcia, Grace Heidmann, Kathie Heidmann, Sandy Husein, Zahra Husein, Ellen Logan, Leanette Medina, Megan Pham, Dylan Schulz & Jennifer Skaggs.
Minutes: the Minutes of the February 2012 Meeting were accepted as read.
WSB Report: (attached) presented by Ellen & Jennifer.
Financial Report: (attached) presented by Dylan.
A motion was made by Sandy to ratify checks #1051 & #1052.
It was seconded by Megan. CARRIED
Audit Report: (attached in the February Minutes) presented by Kathie
Motion was made by Sandy to accept the Audit as read. Seconded by Grace. CARRIED
President’s Report: presented by Dylan
- Dealpalooza was launched. Families sign-up on the website and designate what group, club or sport they would like their donation to be given.
- Megan Pham was selected as our Founder’s Day nominee. March 19th is the ceremony.
- Deadline for the PTSA Scholarship is tomorrow, March 16th.
Officer & Committee Reports:
Nominating Committee: (attached) Kathie presented the 2012-2013 Board. They were elected by the Association.
Ellen Logan was elected as GOHS first student President!
Star Testing: Leanette discussed providing fruit for the students during testing which is from April 9 – 27. Volunteers will be needed.
Reflections: Gayle announced the theme for next year, “The Magic of the Moment”.
New Business: next Meeting: April 19, 2012 @ 12pm.
