The PSAT test is now on sale for Juniors for our October 11th test date at Great Oak High School, which will take place during the day for our College & Career Kickoff Day.
The test is on sale for $16 online at Webstore or with the bookkeeper. (Take your receipt to counseling where you will pick up your PSAT 2017 Guide). To be considered for National Merit Scholarships, Juniors must take this test their Junior year. The Junior year test is specifically needed to qualify for the scholarship. Benefits include the following: scores can lead to National Merit Scholarships, recipients and finalists can become eligible for corporate scholarships. In some cases, grants could cover full tuition, good scores can indicate performance on the SAT and provide more free practice paired with Khan Academy's partnership exams-tools. Lastly, your performance will empower you with the information you need to design an SAT study plan that will help you earn your best possible score. See attachments below for the PDF of the Official PSAT Student Guide describing the test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying factor for more information, including a Master Timeline-College Admission provided by the official PSAT/AP Partner (Khan Academy).

Hello Sophomore Students & Parents:

Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year!

RE: College Admission Promise for Sophomore Students

Hello Students & Parents:

We are excited that the Temecula Unified School District is offering a very amazing program this year called the C.A.P.S. (College Admission Promise for Students) program. This program supports college readiness for students so that they are guaranteed admission to CSUSM when they graduate from a TVUSD high school. This year, we have the incredible opportunity to take a limited number of 10th grade students on a free fieldtrip to CSUSM, California State University, San Marcos where they will tour the campus and be exposed to the university system.

To qualify for being selected for this program, we are asking interested students to visit the Counseling Office (Mrs. Terri Kostecki) to receive a permission slip, including being put on a waiting list if space should open up at a later date for additional seats. Once permission slips are received, satisfactory progress grades will be evaluated to see if students are still eligible to participate in this exciting opportunity on November 17th (Thursday), 2016.This will be an all day event departing Great Oak High School by 7:30 a.m. and returning by 2:30 p.m. Students can pack their own lunch or purchase lunch in the food court at CSUSM.

We look forward to having you joining us on this amazing College Admission Field Trip to CSUSM. See attachment below for more information.
