Need help with creating your IB schedule?  Or, do you want to look at a three or four year high school plan so that you can make sure you get all of the classes you want?

Beginning January 30 through February 17 (in March for incoming freshmen), the counselors will be coming to your classrooms to go over the class selection process and give you critical information.  After that, you will be called in by math class to audit, or review, your schedule.  After the 17th I will also be having intervention meetings so that we can go over your schedules to allow for some extra help.

If you want to meet individually to look at a plan, contact me at jking@tvusd.k12.ca.us and we can set it up.

AP Calculus A/B

Each course in the series has a different focus. Students may attend one or more of the workshops over the course of the semester. To register, please go to http://apr.ucr.edu/   If you have already been to a workshop, there is no need to register a second time.

TVUSD offers free busing to UCR for these workshops.  Students must fill out a trip slip in order to take advantage of the busing. The slip for January is attached.  If you plan to drive your student, or have them drive themselves, there is no need to fill out a trip slip.

Please be sure to turn in your trip slips to your AP teacher by no later than January 24th for this workshop so that we can ensure you a spot on the bus.  If you plan to go but not take the bus, this form is not necessary, but be sure to register at the AP Readiness website if needed.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please let me know that you can commit and I will add your information to the list.

The Temecula Valley Woman’s Club’s 32nd Annual Holiday Home Tour will be held this year on Saturday, November 19th and Sunday, November 20th in La Cresta in Murrieta.

We have had student volunteers from Great Oak High School help us each year and we would appreciate their help again this year.  The students will receive community service hours.  I have attached information and a sign-up sheet.  Please let me know if you are willing to present this to your  IB/NHS students.

The sign-up sheet, once completed, can be e-mailed to me or I can pick it up.  Student volunteers play an important part in the success of our fundraising event.  Many local non-profits benefit from the funds raised, and we have proudly supported our local high schools with scholarships every year.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail, call, text or meet with me.  Thank you!

The structure of the FASFA is changing for the Class of 2017!  This is an important change that will be very helpful in assessing the actual financial aide you can expect from a college before you apply.

The attached link is to the Forbes article I found that addresses this.  At the bottom of the article there are some links to other pages that have a variety of college links and such.
