Resources for Course Selection

  • This course selection page with presentations top left, forms lower left, applications top right, AP/IB links on middle right, and course info links with links to teachers & departments for almost every course for detailed info/examples in lower right. Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways/Courses links in the lower right as well.
  • People - current/past teachers, counselors, parents, older siblings, older students in classes or clubs/sports, and friends who have taken course you are considering.
  • Future colleges/schools that you are interested in - admissions counselors/staff and/or department advisors. Review their websites for info first so you are informed when you email or call them. If you want to know if they would prefer you taking one course plan versus another, then communicate with them and see if they will give you advice from their inside perspective.
  • Considering taking AP or IB courses and would like additional information to analyze if a specific course/area would be a good fit for you?
    • If you took the PSAT this year - create a new account or log in to your collegeboard account - website link or video and view your AP Potential area - website link or video (or view psat score report, linking collegeboard & khan academy accounts, AP Potential & RoadMap to Careers video) to see if your scores on the PSAT would suggest that you have potential in specific AP courses(this could also be indication of potential for IB course in same area/level). If a class isn't indicated - it does NOT mean that you can't still sign up for the course. This is  just another source of information to help you in making your decisions.
    • If you aren't seeing your PSAT Scores and AP Potential info or forgot your password - watch this video
    • If you have already created your account and forgot your password - then use the forgot password link or call them - 866-315-6068 or email them - psathelp@info.collegeboard.org to get reset password. DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT IF YOU ALREADY CREATED ONE - YOUR SCORE WILL NOT BE LINKED TO A SECOND ACCOUNT - STAY WITH ONLY YOUR FIRST ACCOUNT & GET THE RESET PASSWORD.
