10/30

30 October 2012
1. Marines Food Pantry. We are actually not ending this week, haha. Reason being: McKenna, who is in charge of this has asked us to extend it until the week before Thanksgiving because that is when the Marines use the Food Pantry most. Officers: please explain to them WHY we are giving them hours for this; because these marines have sacrificed so much for our country and the fact they don’t have anything to eat for thanksgiving is something that we, as a group, should change. And that’s why we’d like CSF-ers to bring in something so that these Marines can have a Happy Thanksgiving. Its really the least we can do for those who sacrificed everything for our country.
This is a new list of things they need: (they have enough of greens/ canned veggies- so please don’t bring in more!)
Beans
Peanut Butter
Soups/Stews
Pastas
Cereals
Canned Fruit

9. Confusion about volunteer hours- you have 2 options. 1) Volunteer in 3 one time in a year CSF events. 2) Volunteer for 10 hours- any event announced/sponsored by CSF (can be at those one time events. You just need ten hours!). CSF hours- they can be anything. The only thing is, they have to be something that everyone in CSF can go to. For example, if you volunteer somewhere where it is only for a certain club or organization (for example, Hospice or Sports Medicine) and must be in it to volunteer, it will NOT count for hours. So contact a CSF officer to get your event/volunteer opportunity approved and announced.

10. Does anyone have any volunteer opportunities that they’ve been to that they’d like to recommend to other CSF-ers or volunteering places they’ve been to that they want to get CSF approved? E-mail back!
