Our Panorama Survey is put out by TVUSD each school year to measure the safety and social emotional competency of our schools.
CCGI is the California College Guidance Initiative. The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) works to ensure that all 6-12 grade students in California have access to a systematic baseline of guidance and support as they plan, prepare, and pay for post-secondary education and training.

This year the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will take place at Great Oak on Thursday, October 9, 2025, our College Kickoff Day. Please note that this exam is only being offered digitally. There is a small $20 cost for this exam, but there are many benefits, so please read the information below provided by the College Board before filling out the form indicating your intent to take the test.

Juniors who do not wish to take the PSAT/NMSQT will be taking the ASVAB.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students. The ASVAB is not just a military exam, it measures a students occupational aptitude and provides direction into a career that's suited to the individual. Student who take the ASVAB will be invited to a score interpretation session so they can make the best of their score.
SOPHOMORES
10th Graders
Sophomores will select from the freshmen options and the four following options. Make your selections on this form. TVUSD email must be used.
WUE/Out of State
Students will learn how attending a college or university outside of CA may be financially beneficial, and why these campuses may have higher acceptance rates. They will also learn about the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program. WUE is a tuition savings program that helps reduce the cost of college in another state/territory in the WICHE region.
Private Universities
Thinking of wanting to attend a private university such as Stanford, Notre Dame, University of San Diego? Learn about private schools and what they have to offer. Students will also learn how to enhance their application and educational experiences to gain admission.
UC - University of California
Is attending a University of California school a dream of yours? Learn about individual campuses, research opportunities, and how to gain admission into a competitive UC. Find out what may help you to stand out in your application. Learn how your academic performance may allow you to be eligible for one of the 9 campuses.
NCAA/Scholarships
Thinking of playing a sport in college? Students will learn about the current NCAA requirements, identify the 16 core classes needed, and learn about athletic scholarships.
FRESHMEN
9th Graders
Freshmen will receive presentations on the following topics:
Trade School/Vocational/Community College
Introduction to Trade School Careers or the beginning of your college career. Learn about specialized programs, community colleges, and reasons to consider attending a trade school or community college.
CSU - California State University
Explore the different California State University campuses to include specialized programs for each campus. Find out how you can get a direct admit into 17 campuses as a senior. Discover the opportunity to schedule college tours.
4 Year Plan
Students will work on creating a four-year educational plan in Infinite Campus to meet all of the graduation and college admission requirements.
Weighted GPA/IB and AP Explanation
Students will learn the differences between the academic programs offered at GOHS. They will discover the significance of GPA, including their ninth-grade GPA.
