Library Resources for Teachers

Curriculum and Tech Resources

Need a teachers' edition of a textbook? More workbooks (or, more likely, want to get rid of some workbooks)? How about an HDMI cable? Class set of headphones? Dongle for your MacBook? VGA adapter? Apple TV? DVD player? Extra monitor? We probably have what you need! Call the library (or pop by!). We have more resources than you probably think, all available for you to use.

Have random curriculum materials or outdated/unused tech clogging up your classroom? Let us know! We will pick it up and process or surplus it for you. Maybe your trash is someone else's treasure!

Teacher Core Literature Request Form

Teachers can use this form to schedule novel pick up and drop off for their classes. Please submit requests with as much notice as possible so that we can be prepared. If you have a general idea of the books you will want for the year when the school year starts, you are welcome to send them to gohs-library@tvusd.us so we can plan accordingly for when you submit your requests. Thank you!

Library Feedback and Book Suggestions

If you would like the Library to look into purchasing specific books for student and/or class use, let us know! It is our intention to build our library collection based on feedback from GOHS teachers and students, so please make sure to tell us what you want : ))

Library Reservations

Want to bring your class to the library? You are welcome to schedule class time in the library for testing, group work, and more! Sometimes it is nice to switch it up and spread out a little. Check out our form for more information about what the library offers, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Library Slide Show Request

We have a library bulletin board and a slideshow display which plays in the Library during school hours, and we are happy to display your posters for events, activities, and more! Before school, after school, and lunch are busy times in the library, so feel free to submit anything that you would like students to see. Email dfuentes@tvusd.us

This choice books presentation gives an introduction to the different genres available in the library. Teachers can use this slideshow with their classes before choice book projects, and/or can sign up for a lesson with the library. The slideshow includes a title slide, student access QR code, information about how the library is organized, and an overview of the genre categories (including examples of books we have available in the library, with links to reviews). Book Sprint slides are included in this combo presentation (choice books and book sprint slides are also available separately).

Word of the Week

Feel free to use this slideshow which includes words from Vocabulary.com's Essential Vocabulary for High School Students list. There is a title slide, sources slide (which includes instructions on how to download the presentation as a video), and each word has two slides: definition slide (includes the word in a sentence) and a slide with pictures that show what the word means.

Word of the Year

Every year, Dictionary.com decides on a word of the year. This slideshow includes a title slide, sources slide, slides about how the words are chosen and what counts as a word, slides for honorable mentions, the current year's word, and previous years' words since 2020.

California Young Reader Medal

The California Young Reader Medal is awarded to books that are chosen by students from California schools.
